DC Star Launches Pop Career

“Dawson’s Creek” (1998) star Kerr Smith is planning a change in career — he’s getting set to release an album. Away from the set, Smith is a musician playing the piano and bass as well as singing and writing songs. But he says he may not put his name to his own work because “I think it’s really cheesy when actors make music. I think the only one who has really pulled it off is Jennifer Lopez. The star writes about love and everyday life. He explains, “I could make music all the time, and it kills me when I travel and don’t have my equipment with me.”
