Former “Dawson’s Creek” hottie Kerr Smith says he’s still gung ho to do the romantic comedy, “Accidental Murder,” which he was set to do with former “Party of Five” babe Lacey Chabert. But now, he reports, it’s been “pushed to the spring.” In the film, “I play a senator’s aide who ends up accidentally murdering the senator and his bodyguard in his apartment,” says Smith, who’s currently recurring on “Charmed.” “He’s trying to hide them and it turns out the people who live in the building are crazier than he is, and start helping him to hide the bodies.
When I read the script, I was like ‘What the hell is this I’m reading’ This is the craziest thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I had to read it twice, it’s just so different.” Smith, who plays a federal agent in the Dark Operatives Unit — and the current love interest for Paige (Rose McGowan) — on “Charmed,” says it was also “real different” coming into an established show. “I’ve never been the new kid on the block,” says Smith. “I was with the same job, ‘Dawson’s’ for so many years and it was always great. Whenever we had guests on the show we always treated them real nice and made them real comfortable.’ Fortunately, he says, the “Charmed” troupe treated him the same way. “It’s been real easy…I’m having a fun time working with everybody.”
